I live in Toronto and LOVED your Canada talk!
Just to touch on your Degrassi talk:
1) I occasionally see Spike on public transit!
2) My uncle used to do the audio on Degrassi.
3) My friend used to date the guy who played Rick on Degrassi:TNG and when we met him at a party, my husband (who may have been drinking) accosted him and said “You shot Drake! You should be a rapper because you shot Drake which means you have mad street cred!” This did not go over particularly well.
Anyway, if you ever make your way up to TO, drinks are on me. 🙂

I was yelling, “Away From Her! Away From Her!” when you were trying to remember the Julie Christie Alzheimers movie. Just another reason why I can’t listen to PMC in public (ridiculous giggling is the other main reason). Anyway… I had the same experience as Cole with Christian Bale in The Fighter. I wasn’t totally sold until the credits and we saw just how good of a job he did. I think it was Vanessa who recommended Instagram for retro iPhone photos and I wanted to agree. And Steve’s reaction to the “Man-Pile” question was one of my favorite moments of this podcast ever.

I’m kind of wondering if I had the same first camera as Vanessa. It was a bright blue plastic camera from Fisher-Price that took 110 film. My parents used to try to convince to take pictures with people in them… that photos with people are more interesting. I think I thought I would compose the most beautiful landscape photographs ever on that little camera, I’d show them!!!

(Oh wow, found an image of the camera: http://goo.gl/iWNwl)

In terms of firsts… The first camera I can remember being “mine” was this little brown rectangular job, with the flash cartridge thing. It was awesome. I loved it.

I liked that this one was more focused on pop culture. And congrats on hitting the one year mark!

The firsts question was quite interesting. I don’t think I ever had my own camera, until I bought one as an adult (I’m 28). I know I had my own walkman, so it seems like I would have had a camera. My sister bought me one of those Polaroids that took tiny pictures on stickers. (Not sure if it was this one, but very similar: http://www.amazon.com/Polaroid-i-zone-Pocket-Instant-Camera/dp/B00005AKQB)

I remember using a camera with a flashbulb, I remember Polaroids, I remember normal cameras, and then using tons of disposable cameras. But first real camera was a digital Canon Powershot I bought when I was 22.

I just got my first phone that takes pictures. Weird weird. I feel like an elderly Luddite. 🙂
