It was like a living room on wheels.

But the car I learned to drive in was a 1998 Ford Explorer, red, Eddie Bauer edition. I think it was a ’98. I loved driving it, even though I am against SUVs politically (blah blah blah).

Babe was my 1989 blue Buick Skylark, a 4-door, and an all-around piece of shit. There was more rust than blue, only one speaker worked in the back, but I always tried to listen to music anyway, assuming the others would just start working somehow.

She lasted me for maybe two years and we had a great time. Took my road test in her, I did!

Sidenote: Vanessa, I’m pretty sure you were in that very car around 1998 or so, on one of your CNY adventures. If that doesn’t earn me brownie points on this one, I don’t know what will!

You know, I’d like the DVDs but I already have Dave C’s autograph on a Full House board game, so if I don’t win this one, no biggie!

The exact opposite car a teenage boy could want. It was small, a 0-60 time of literally 40 seconds, ugly, and to top it off it looked like an used bowling ball. It was a bold purple with big glittery flakes in it. I hate that car so much that I miss it.

Also, I got the tinting removed from the windows solely for the purpose of better viewing from the back seats while driving down “the strip” in Panama City Beach at spring break… It was a beaut.

After that, I had her black hatchback Imprezza… My brother eventually got her silver one.

I totaled it and missed driving it every day since. Three weeks ago, I bought the exact same car (somehow with only 92k miles on it) and have rediscovered my love of driving a manual.

They use the clips from AFP because I told the guy in charge of that about it. That is true.

My parents gave it to me my junior year of high school. On Name Your Car Day (Oct. 2), I named it “Pedro.” Pedro got me through college, law school, and the first six months of my first real job. Pedro departed this earthly world in 2004, at which time I bought a black 2004 Cavalier.

Only lasted for about a year, but you never forget the car you had in high school.

My mom dropped the keys off to me right before we were about to go onstage to do “Wings” by Linda Barnes (the day we placed #3 in the state!!! Woo hoo!!!)

Drove it in 1972-75 high school. It is still in our family today. That was one hell of a car to take to the outdoor drive in. One night we fit in 21 people to see a movie. All for $2.00. You may think way too long ago but I am not really that old! 🙂

But as far back as I can remember I’ve always wanted the convertible the Full House cast were in driving over the Golden Gate bridge. That was, until I saw on the dvd extras (rented, as I’m a poor grad student who can’t afford luxuries like that) that the cast ACTUALLY NEVER DID THAT, it was stunt doubles. How rude. Reality continues to ruin my life. But, I eventually forgave them. So, I’d love to win this.
