We used to trade gerbil babies back to the pet store for shavings and food every months!

I played a few games of candy poker… The stakes are high, but…get lower as people keep eating their chips. I do pretty decently, not that I’m good at poker, but because I never get barfy from too much candy. Glorious!

Dad took us to Atlantic City. I won $60 on a slot machine and had to have him claim it since I was underage. (It was more lax then, in the 80s.) He made me split it with him!

For my birthday, my sisters took me gambling at the nearest casino boat. My birthday is on the 15th of July. All night, my meager winnings were my birthday number. On one slot machine, I matched 3 15’s to win $15.00. At one point, I gambled away $5, then found a $20 chip on the ground. Every time I pulled a receipt out of a slot machine, it was always something like $1.50, $3.15, etc. Always with a 15 in it. Sadly, I did not win $15,000 that night. But still. Freaky.
