Ugh! I can’t believe you didn’t get to go!!! I hate stuff like that. After working in events I understand better how it happens but it doesn’t make it any less awful.

I loved the full top 20 number! Speaking of the top 20, how many of the repeated routines were from the first performance show? I think I counted four. I remember thinking, “This season is going to be amaaaaazing!” but the ratio of memorable numbers didn’t quite keep up. Good caption on Will and Amelia. She was all uncomfortable with doing the butt dance on Mia night and I wondered if she somehow didn’t notice this move. The season is over and I still don’t understand why everyone cries with the Exorcist guy dances.

I guess Tyce decided that yes, the piece was about the holly-cost even though they were so vague about it on the original episode. I’m a little shocked we didn’t see Allison in this finale, her piece with Chehon was better than this one. Maybe she was in the Lion King number but I couldn’t tell. It actually wasn’t my favorite but it was fun.

I was joking on Facebook a couple weeks ago that I wanted to go to a SYTYCD viewing party in Zurich but hadn’t heard of any… local boy makes good and all, but I’m not sure if this will ever air there. I wish Eliana was just the winner of the whole season so we didn’t have the messy male dancer decision on our hands. She clearly would have won if they hadn’t changed the rules. They swept Cyrus away so fast and possibly gave him Chehon’s flowers… since Eliana came back with the same bouquet. Messy, messy, messy and heartbreaking. The last moments of the season are always a little odd. But yes, great season.

Thanks for recapping and giving me a place to babble so my poor husband didn’t have to listen to it all!!!

Loved the finale – even with the filler included. I was happy that Chehon and Eliana won. Loved Eliana all along, and it was great to see Chehon’s progress. I wouldve been upset if it had been Cyrus, mostly because it felt like some group dances and pairings were hurt by him (ex: I think the jazz dance that he and Melanie did would’ve been 10X better with many of the top 10 guys). His dances that were on point were amazing, but his off-dances could be painful.
Also – anyone else catch the weird audio bit where Cat’s voice popped up during a video? Any ideas?
All of the group dances were amazing tonight… I’m going to go rewatch them all now, haha. Also, I wonder if the Nappytabs routine was so great because of their time off. They’ve had a mixed bags of dances in the past, some amazing ones, some not so great, but maybe having time away from SYTYCD helped them develop one as memorable as this one.
