The first podcast I ever heard was “Mugglecast” which is great for a Harry Potter fan. Soon after I discovered comedy podcasts and got hooked on “Never Not Funny”, “Comedy Death Ray” (now “Comedy Bang Bang”) and “Doug Loves Movies”. I really enjoy PMC, too! And I can’t believe anyone could be annoyed by Vanessa’s voice. I absolutely adore her laugh, especially! Cole and Vanessa are both terrific!

Great episode! The very first podcast I listend to was “My Brother, My Brother, and Me” My son is a huge comedy podcast nerd and he asked me to listen to a few with him. We ended up laughing really hard together and it gave us something to bond over every week. It came at a really great time; he was becoming a teenager and we had drifted apart. It was his way of reaching out to me and I took that lifeline and held onto it hard. Now that he has gone off to college, he calls me all the time so we can talk about our favorites (PMC included, of course. He’s a huge David Wain fan so he was extra excited about this episode) and podcasts still continue to keep my son and I connected.

The first podcast I ever listened to was “The Tobolowski Files” first episode “The Alchemist. I hadn’t really heard of podcasts and definitely had no idea who Stephen Tobolowski was (hey, it’s that creepy white supremacist from Mississippi Burning!) but a friend of mine told me I had to listen to this podcast. I downloaded it and by the end of it I was crying and downloading all the available episodes “Tobolowsky Files.” I have listened to each episode at least twice and look forward to each new one.

The first podcast I listened to was an episode of The Bugle, (“An Audio Newspaper For A Visual World”) featuring John Oliver and Andy Zaltzman. It skirts the line between actual news and complete bullshit, and John’s material often surfaces in an episode of the Daily Show over the following week.

I was hooked from the first moment.

My first podcast was Coverville. I can’t remember what number, but I was so happy that there was a huge backlog of episodes that I could fill up my Zune with and listen to at my leisure.

Love the State, Stella, Mike and Mike have Issues, Burning Love, and the rest of the projects by the State. Saw WHAS in Manhattan at a midnight show in Times Square during a vacation to the city. The theater lost air conditioning and it was so hot that the management gave us free tickets.

My first podcast was Jesse Thorn’s The Sound of Young America and I was instantly hooked. I soon moved on the rest of the Maximum Fun catalogue (which was really just Jordan, Jesse, Go! back then), then Comedy Death-Ray, DLM, Tony Kornheiser, and too many comedy and sports podcasts to count.

My first podcast was The Nerdist and they were on episode on twenty-something. I’m one of the biggest Attack of the Show fans and years ago when Hardwick mentioned it on the show I was like “I like this guy, I want to hear more from him”. And three years later I’ve subscribed to over 30 podcast.

My first podcast was the Donald Glover episode of the Nerdist. Up until that point, I had no idea of what a podcast was, so my feeling could best be encapsulated as “oh-my-god-you-can-do-this!?”

I’ve been a podcaddict ever since.

It’s a shame that you didn’t ask “what’s the second podcast you ever listened to?” My answer would have been the Paul Scheer episode of Pop My Culture, and I would have told you that I loved every second of it and to this day PMC is one of the three podcasts to which I am subscribed.

The first real podcast and not just radio show put online (This American Life) was most likely Comedy Death-Ray, now Bang Bang. I feel like I found out about it when I was really getting big into comedy and was looking up stuff and it changed everything for me. Being an artist, I kind of need something I can have on that I don’t have to look at or put too much attention to. I also kind of wanted something with more substance and it helped introduce me to all these comedians and shows I never heard of before. I now basically listen podcasts all day, every day. I’m horrifically addicted and they are taking over my life/computer space. Help.

Also, great episode, David Wain is wonderful.

The first podcast I ever listened to was Radio Free Burrito. From there I found the Nerdist, which led to many, many other fantastic discoveries. I am no longer human, but rather a vessel into which podcasts constantly and consistently flow. Mine is a higher form of existence than had ever been considered possible. Truly, I have ascended, for now I need no sustenance other than the ethereal lembas that is the podcast.

My first podcast was NPR’s “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me” because I was obsessed with the radio show in 6th grade, and when I realized I could listen on my iPod and not just in the car, my obsession blossomed to a whole new level. But podcasts somewhat disappeared from my life for a while, with only the occasional Adam Carolla episode when I felt like it.

Sophomore year I found “The Nerdist” via the Matt Smith episode and that ushered in the new wave (WTF, Indoor Kids, PMC, YMIW, and many many more….) Now, three years later I’m up to 26 regular podcasts, and even started one of my own! But sadly, poor old “Wait, Wait” fell out of favor… 🙁

The first podcast I ever listened to was Mike and Tom Eat Snacks. I believe the first episode I listened to was the Third Degree Burn Doritos episode. I’ve been a huge fan of Michael Ian Black ever since I saw the premiere of Stella on Comedy Central, and over the years have been digging into his other stuff, discovering the State, Wet Hot American Summer, etc., eventually leading to the very hilarious Mike and Tom Eat Snacks. I’ve been hooked ever since that first episode.

The first podcast I listened to was Comedy Bang Bang (formerly Comedy Death Ray formerly not a thing – DLM shoutout). I had gotten a job as a glorified file clerk in 2009 and needed something to help pass the time. I was aware of podcasts but had never gotten into them before. I went into iTunes and typed comedy into the search bar under the Podcast section and it was the first one that came up at the time. It actually took me awhile to get into it, at the time I thought it was super weird but I’m now a huge fan of the show.

The first podcast I ever listened to was episode 1 of the Nerdist podcast. It was after much prodding by a friend, and I had a long commute, so I figured, why not? I became instantly obsessed. I listened to the 151 episodes of the Nerdist that were out at the time in under three weeks.

The candidness of the format was something new and refreshing, and addicting. I quickly started listening to other podcasts. I currently subscribe to 22 podcasts, and I’ve listened to every episode of each of them.

I started PMC in the beginning of June 2012, and marathoned all of the episodes in a matter of a few months. I became so entrenched in the podcast lifestyle that I started co-hosting one of my own. We’re at around 66 episodes and I can truly say that podcasts have changed my life for the better.
