When we got to high school, a bunch of my friends were into Iron Chef, and two of them lived on the same block, so we’d have battles – reveal the secret ingredient and then have 2 hours to run to the supermarket (ideally running into someone’s mom and setting her on the other team), get back to the house, and make an appetizer, drink, entree, and dessert. Had judging rubrics and everything. It was pretty sweet.

I didn’t have a great grasp on what numbers were yet, so it was all like magic to me.

The way Bob Barker always seemed kind of disgusted and dismissive after some overly excited woman ran up and kissed him probably marked me for the worse in some Freudian way.

I watch Price Is Right, Supermarket Sweep, that one in the fake mall, then I also watched all of the Nickelodeon game shows. Such as; Legends of the Hidden Temple, Nick Arcade, Figure It Out, Finders Keepers, Global Guts, Double Dare, and more.

NO one got through the shopping segment without getting a ceramic dog. And sadly, the phrase “on account or gift certificate” is no longer in our lexicon.

Now, boy, it’s hilarious!
