I had an NES that I obtained long after the Super Nintendo was prevalent, bought the Nintendo 64 when the GameCube was already out and with the release of the XBOXone, I just obtained the 360.

However, there was one system I had to have as it was released. The Sony Playstation. Mainly because of one game, WCW -vs- the world. I was big into professional wrestling at the time and my cousin had the game as soon as it came out. He brought it over to my house and I was blown away. They looked just like the real guys! You know, except all blobby and rectangular.

My mom broke down and bought me the game/system for my birthday and I was maneuvering a blocky Hulk Hogan day and night.

I had no video game system at the time, but played Sega at my friend’s house every time I went over there. I began begging my parents for a Sega and the game, then after a few weeks they caved and I got it for Christmas.

The game was impossible as a young kid. After level 5 you had to ‘soft reset’ the console to move onto level 6.

I must have read the review of it in Nintendo Power a hundred times….

It was my first encounter with your work and wow it is so wonderful. The adventures of Pete & Pete was my favorite show when I was growing up. Words can’t describe how much this show taught me about existence. It resonates an epic nostalgia in the Nickelodeon kid. The coolest role models for sure. Fingers crossed for the DVD!
The first video game I can remember I was trying to buy was turn based strategy game: Heroes of Might and Magic IV… the last game to be developed by New World Computing. Great, now I craving to play it again.

Also very good point on new generation kids missing out on tactile experience with toys. Maybe this is the reason for Bieber to have his weird bucket list 🙂

Thanks Pop Culture, you rock!

P.S 5 stars on Itunes.

That was a must have back then. Begged my mom & dad to go out and get it. I did a lot of room cleaning to get it. Big fan of Danny. Loved Pete & Pete and All That.

How awesome was that?! Well the first video game I saw at a friend’s and wanted was Tetris. It’s still my all-time fave.

I’d pre-ordered it at Electronics Boutique and had been anticipating it for months. The store ended up getting them a couple of days before I’d expected, when my parents were out of town, but I was still too young to drive and I ended up frantically calling everyone I could think of, trying to get a ride to EB to pick up my N64.
