Oh man, I remember those wax animals from the Miami Zoo! The smell of those things is unforgettable. I had the giraffe, which was a weird one because it was actually two giraffes standing next to each other. So it was hard to play with; like conjoined twins fused at the sides.

I never ditched grade school in the sense of “pretend to go and then bail.” (College was no holds barred of course). My parents would keep me out sometimes so that we could go on vacation or something. As a relatively honest child, if I ever complained of feeling even a little ill, my Mom was fine to keep me home. I don’t recall ever totally misleading her about my illnesses, but sometimes a little exaggeration was called for.

And just to utterly beat this to death, KVME 20.1 broadcast is also an Orange Co. (Bishop)/LA MeTV affiliate. I don’t know, however, if the Olsen Twins have ever met a MeTV affiliate.

I don’t think I ever skipped except due to illness…though I did have an illness/going home midday on the City Bus in Honolulu to Kailua story that’s mildly cringeworthy, but I’ll spare you. (I went to the private school that Obama went to, starting the year after he was graduated, though at the time, seeing teenage Tia Carrere and her schoolmates on TheBus as they embarked from a school across the street made more of an impression.

But Franzese should tune into MeTV weeknights at 11p for the half-hour repackages of the hourlong THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW, CAROL BURNETT AND FRIENDS, which is not an infomercial but the syndicated package, first shown at about the end of the network run years…the full CBS hours would be better, usually, but these are easily available…KDOC 56.3 in the Los Angeles market, again at 11p PT (and ET over on this coast, on the MeTV affilates around the country).

The only time I ever ditched school was when my entire high school class went to a Phillies game as our ‘senior prank’…pretty weak. Plus I think we told the administration it was going to happen. Guess we were just great little Catholic school girls.

Y’all this was such a great episode! I really enjoyed all of it!

My first time ditching was my freshman year. I think it was when I had procrastinated this huge project and just decided not to go to class because I hadn’t finished it and just turned it in the next day ahaha.
