    My Top Five!
    5) The Avengers being just as awesome the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th times I watched it.
    4) Finding so many new podcasts! (including The Mental Illness Happy Hour, Harmontown, and Pop My Culture!!! (#SuckingUp #DoesntMeanItsNotTrue #WhyAmIUsingHashtagsInAComment?))
    3) Having the best gosh-darn senior spring a high school student could hope for.
    2) Handwritten by The Gaslight Anthem
    1) Doctor Who. And bonus points for Jenna Louise-Coleman being awesome.

(Honorary mention: this list, because ever since watching High Fidelity I obsessively make Top 5 lists of everything!)

1.) The Korean drama called “Faith.” I started watching it on a whim, and within the first few minutes I was completely entranced. Everybody has to watch this, it is absolutely amazing.
2.) My sister’s family moved to a neighborhood where my nieces have a school that they LOVE. The school they went to last year wasn’t the best situation for them, but now they’re happy, so I’m happy.
3.) The YouTube channel OfficialNerdCubed. Even though Dan plays a lot of games I wouldn’t normally be interested in, I can’t stop watching. His commentary is hilarious, and I only wish I had stumbled upon his channel earlier.
4.) Adventure Time. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a cartoon.
5.)The live Pop My Culture at LA Riot. I don’t really like going into LA, but it was SO worth it! Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed that show.

    1) Cabin in the Woods. Every second of that movie is a gift from the gods.
    2) When this song turns into a crazy rave about a minute in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XuqO7hOF4M
    3) Podcasts! Just before the start of 2012 I started a new job as a mailman, and podcasts have made it a great time. Especially when it’s cold and wet and windy, it’s awesome to have fun people keep you company in your ears and make everything a little less awful. (That sounds kind of weird.)
    4) Vanessa’s drunk intros. Now that we’ll have to miss them for nine months we’d better appreciate the ones we have.
    5) A very personal thing, but whatever: On January 1st, 2012 I started a blog where I uploaded one illustration every weekday, and I’ve managed to keep that up for the entire year. So I’m kind of proud of myself. (Enjoy my interpretation of the wizard all the PMC guests keep angering http://illustration-a-day.tumblr.com/post/21343930497)
Time to start thinking of five things I hated this year…

My top 5 things for 2012:

    5. The Hobbit: My absolute favorite movie of 2012 and definetely one of my top 5 movies of all time. I absolutely loved it.

    4. Parks & Rec: I got into Parks & Rec after listening to Jim O’Heir on PMC, and it has become the show that I am currently obsessed with. I think it is hilarious and the cast is awesome.

    3. Netflix: I have been streaming TV shows from Netflix for a while, but 2012 was the year that I found a bunch of great shows that I found myself getting really into.

    2. Gangnam Style: Definitely the most addictive song of 2012, despite it’s supposed anti-American lyrics. I think this song is so catchy and fun to dance to!

    1. PMC- I started getting into listening podcasts early this year, and I have to say that as soon as I discovered PMC, it instantly became my absolute favorite podcast. Cole and Vanessa are so funny, and the guests are always awesome. I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to PMC over the past year and I am looking forward to another great year.

    TOP FIVE:
5.)FINISHING THAT BOOK I WROTE: I finished that book that I wrote.
4.)THE 2012 ELECTION OUTCOME: “Black Jesus beat Uncle Harido; We’re going to be okay” -Greg Proops
3.)BREAKING BAD: Everyone stop: they’ve perfected TV.
2.)CAVALCADE OF BOYS: Comic book series I discovered late in 2012. By far the best portrayal of gay men in any media.
1.) JOURNEY (THE VIDEO GAME): Journey is truly a milestone and new standard for the ‘art in video games discussion. It, along with Spec Ops: The Line and The Walking Dead helped solidify the serious side and potential of the medium.

    Best of 2012

    1. Establishing twitter account but not to tweet. Only to read musings of heroes Albert Brooks, Steve Martin, Joan Rivers, and Shandling.

    2. The movie Chronicle early in the year. How did they do those special effects?

    3. Seeing Obama re-elected and wondering how Republicans could lie and misrepresent themselves repeatedly and get away with it. Most Americans caught on eventually.

    4. Marvelling at Katy Perry. A face like “New Girl” and a body like a porn star. She can sing quite well also.

    5. Watching Letterman come clean on Oprah about Leno and fighting depression. Seeing him get the Kennedy Center Honors. If you can, look at You Tube for old appearances by Jay Leno on Letterman,s NBC Late Night show. You could make a case that, when together, they were one of the great comedy teams of all time.
