The Chicago Cubs, because someone told me they were underdogs.

The first sports team I realistically cared at all about was Cervelo Test Team, a cycling team that only even existed 2009-2010. When the team closed and Ted King transferred to Liquigas Cannondale (now Cannondale Pro Cycling), so did my interest. Man cycling teams change too much!

I’ve been a Red Sox fan since the late 80s. Luckily, I missed the Bill Buckner WS Game 6. I thought Boggs was the best hitter in the game, and Clemens the best pitcher. I also love Ted Williams. But most of all, I watched way too much Cheers.

Your story about the Lonely Doll reminded me of a This American Life episode I heard years ago.

There’s a great book out about the history of the woman who wrote “The Lonely Doll.” Intensifies the creepiness of the original book while also shedding some light on the difficult life of the author. Totally recommended if you like hide-your-head-under-the-covers psychological family stuff like “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane,” “Mommy Dearest,” etc.

Sacramento Kings. My dad had season tickets, so I’ve been going to games as far back as I can remember. And Spud Webb is still one of my all time favorite players. Kings All Day.

My team has always been the Iowa State Cyclones, my parents’ and then my own alma mater. Pro sports aren’t as big a deal in this state.

Loved the episode – have you considered having Luke come to other podcasts just to laugh in the background? It’s a good laugh.

P.S. 100% agree on Tapped Out. It is embarrassing how many times a day I go on.
